Baby oil is another helpful and mild cradle cap treatment, which many parents find it useful especially to a stubborn flakes condition. By rubbing it off a little amount of natural oil or baby oil over the scalp or parts that have flakes and then leaving it for about 15 minutes can aid loosening the dried flakes. Putting oil in the scalp 10 – 15 minutes before bathing the baby or shampooing is also a safe remedy, but never leaves the oil beyond the recommendation because it may lead to irritation.

Although, for severe types of cradle cap that appears not only on the scalp, it is advisable to consult your baby’s pediatrician because he may prescribe over-the-counter shampoo or cream for such kind of dermatitis especially when the rashes are inflamed.
